Caol Ila 2012 Tasting Notes

Nose: Everything Islay, and more. Salty enough to be pulled from the ocean. Peaty enough to be laying in the heather. Smokey enough to be fireside and Dunyvaig castle.

Palate: Smokey BBQ notes mingle with salty, peppery peat. Add a dollop of marsala sweetness and lingering sweet oak and we are in Islay heaven.

Finish: Sweet smokey BBQ lingers and keeps reminding you of this special whisky.

A beautiful single whisky to celebrate industry legend  remarkable 50 years in the whisky industry. This particular release is a 2012 Caol Ila which Mike has aged in a custom-made marsala cask, before bottling at cask strength.
