An exceptional, blended Irish Whiskey that express what J.J. Corry is all about.

Founded in 2016 by Louise McGuane, Chapel Gate Whiskey states that they were founded to bring back "the lost art of Irish Whiskey Bonding." Back in the day, Irish Whiskey distillers "just" distilled. Local shops, farmers, and entrepreneurs would show up with containers, fill them up, and take them back to their local towns. They would then age it on-site in a variety of casks — some new, some used, sometimes whatever they had on hand — and then sell by the glass or by the bottle. This was called "Whiskey Bonding," and it’s what Chapel Gate Whiskey is doing to great acclaim.

"The Gael" Whiskey is named after a bicycle invented company namesake J.J. Corry. But J.J. Corry 'The Gael' Batch No. 2 Irish Whiskey is quadratic blend of four Irish Whiskeys — 5% twenty-six yea-old Single Malt aged in Sherry casks, 27.5% eleven year-old Single Malt, 27.5% fifteen year-old Single Malt, and 40% seven year-old single grain. Batch No. 1 of this recipe took the Gold medals at both the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and the Irish Whiskey Awards. Batch No. 2 is even richer, serving a delicious mission statement for the J.J. Corry style of Whiskey-making.


Smartass Corner:
The "J.J. Corry" brand on the label refers to a local Whiskey Bonder in County Clare, Ireland. He was an entrepreneur and innovator who started his Whiskey Bonding operation in 1890.
