Baker’s Bourbon is named after Baker Beam—the grandnephew of Jim Beam himself. So it comes at no surprise that Baker’s Bourbon is a subsidiary of Beam Suntory. It is one of their four “small batch series” Bourbons, all of which are highly rated, delicious, and pack a unique character.

If you meet other Bourbon lovers at a tasting, it is not uncommon to hear Baker’s described as “Bourbon for Cognac lovers”. This is not surprising since it has a smooth, sophisticated flavor profile and a creamy texture that really stands out. While some Bourbons taste like a beefy day working in a lumberyard, Baker’s stands out as a firm handed dinner jacket sipper. It’s the self-made entrepreneur who moves seamlessly from his crew on the production floor to attending the opera, where no one questions the drink in his hand.

Now, for the nuts and blots. This Mahogany-colored dram is aged for 7 years and comes out of the bottle at 53.5% ABV (107 proof). The strength fits the dram like a glue... but it does go well with some ice. Don't overthink it.
